Firefighters from Iona McGregor and surrounding areas battled a fire in a commercial metal-frame building with extreme clutter conditions.

Crews from Fort Myers Fire Department, South Trail Fire Protection & Rescue Service District, Estero Fire Rescue, Lee County Public Safety and Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to the fire late Monday night.

Due to concerns over the building’s structure, firefighters were temporarily pulled out for safety. After reassessment, they re-entered to continue fighting the fire.

Search crews found no one inside the building.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
