A Charlotte County deputy was injured Tuesday morning during a training exercise at the sheriff's office firing range.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the deputy's agency-issued firearm unintentionally discharged, striking him in the leg.
The sheriff's office said the injury was not life-threatening. The deputy was treated at a hospital and has since been released.
