AI tech enhances safety at Moorings Park Grande Lake in Naples

Moorings Park Grande Lake is set to enhance its community living with the introduction of the AI-enabled Grandview building.

This new development aims to provide a safer and more independent lifestyle for its residents, incorporating innovative technology to monitor and assist daily activities.

Kayda Johnson, a resident at Moorings Park Grande Lake for four years, expressed her enthusiasm for the new building.

"Monitoring and everything that's sort of behind the scenes allows a person to live, to be independent as much as they can be, without really feeling like they're in an institution which they're not," said Johnson. "AI permits all that and fosters that."

Johnson also emphasized the sense of security she already feels within the community and believes these new tools will further enhance safety.

"We have all sorts of mechanisms that you don't see that keep people relatively safe and as safe as they can be in a community," said Johnson.

The Grandview building utilizes AI-powered light sensors to track movements, detect falls, monitor mobility, and flag changes in sleep patterns, all without the use of cameras.

Residents wear watches to enter spaces, and staff are alerted if someone tries to access a restricted area. Dan Lavender, CEO of Moorings Park, highlighted the importance of privacy with the integration of AI technology.

"We've taken very good care to make sure that we're using it positively and not, you know, invasive at all, and that's why we've chosen not video to do the sensor movement, but just rather space movements and other things like that," said Lavender.
